We invite you to enjoy the peace and quiet afforded you at the very private Boulders Lodge. Here you are viewing the grand fireplace to our Boulders I cabin of this historic Lodge of Brown County. This impressive fireplace was built of native area boulders ... hence the name, Boulders Lodge. Adventure and intrigue of southern Indiana awaits your arrival. As you step into this authentic original log cabin Lodge built in 1912 by William Charters, you will be taken back to a time when the Lodge was home to weekend guests of the prohibition era. Take a walk down the original stone steps that once led to the old Railway Depot, where guests arrived and departed on old steam locomotive #97 (Engine #97 proudly sits on the rails in Broad Ripple Park today). The Lodge was a frequent weekend destination for the guests of Charter Brown. After a long week in the city it was great to get away to beautiful Brown County, Indiana.
This Lodge is constructed of native poplar logs with a covered porch spanning the 40 foot length of the great-room. The placial view 5 person hot-tub is located on the south end of the expansive veranda.
